dr. dana labat is a licensed clinical psychologist in both louisiana and texas. she earned her ph.d. in clinical psychology at university of texas southwestern medical center’s graduate school of biomedical sciences (utsw), and formerly served as the psychological services manager for inpatient psychiatry at children’s medical center of dallas (cmcd).
being a mental health professional during this time can stressful. MHPs are not only working to take care of the mental health of their clients but also maintain their own mental health and self-care practices. this can present a unique set of challenges that are exacerbated by the pandemic and social unrest that we all feel. in this episode, dr. l and dr. labat explore this experience in greater depth together and share tips for maintaining strong boundaries and self-consideration.
